As practicing Tibetan Buddhists, Melanie and Robert Sachs have pursued Indian and Tibetan Ayurveda studies for over forty years. Recognized by such teachers as Dr. Deepak Chopra and other physicians of both eastern and western traditions, their published works in this field are considered the articulate and most usable texts available. Robert is a prolific author publishing 15 books, including Nine-Star Ki: Your Astrological Companion to Feng Shui (Vega Press 2001), Tibetan Ayurveda: Health Secrets from The Roof of The World (Inner Traditions, 2001), Rebirth Into Pure Land (Diamond Way Ayurveda, 1994), Perfect Endings: A Conscious Approach to Dying and Death (Inner Traditions International, 1998), The Passionate Buddha: Wisdom on Intimacy and Enduring Love (Inner Traditions, 2002), Becoming Buddha: Awakening The Wisdom and Compassion to Change Your World (Watkins Press, 2008), Wisdom of The Buddhist Masters: Common and Uncommon Sense (Watkins Press, 2008), The Ecology of Oneness: Awakening in a Free World (iUniverse 2016), and Start Your Day with a Good Night's Sleep (iUniverse 2017), and his and wife Melanie's most book "Ayurvedic Spa", an authoritative guide for practitioners of Ayurvedic lifestyle and bodywork. Sachs is a graduate of the University of Lancaster with a B.A. in comparative religion and sociology, and the University of Kentucky with a Masters in Social Work.

  • Robert has studied Macrobiotics with master Michio Kushi, Ayurveda with Drs. Vasant Lad, Lobsang Rapgay and Shyam Singha, shiatsu with master Rex Lassalle — is licensed from Central Ohio School of Massage, certified as a hatha yoga instructor with All India Board and Inner London Education Authority, trained as a mental health counselor with the Richmond Fellowship College, and holds a Masters in Social Work from The University of Kentucky.

  • With an educational background and training that is as conventional as it is 'alternative,' Robert works with physicians, clinics, hospitals, and private individuals and organizations, teaching them how to integrate contemporary scientific approaches with the indigenous wisdom traditions in the areas of stress management, preventive health care, and relationship and group dynamics.

  • He is a guest instructor for the Chopra Center for Wellbeing in San Diego and lecturer in Tibetan Medicine for the Sino-American Rehabilitation Association College in Los Angeles. He is a lecturer at holistic health care conferences nationally, has been featured in many holistic, wellness, and spa magazines, T.V. and radio programs nationally and internationally, and has hosted his talk radio shows in New Mexico and California focusing on a unique system of astrology called 9-Star Ki and alternative health care.
