BRADFORD ZAK, CEO & Founder

Bradford is a graduate of Cornell University with a B.S. Hotel Administration Degree, 1980, and has 40 years of operational, financial, development, and entrepreneurial experience in complex resorts, spa, hotels, and clubs in Africa (Tanzania, Zambia), Asia (India, China, Macau, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines), the Pacific (Hawaii), and the Americas (Costa Rica, West Coast USA). Mr. Zak grew up in Tokyo, Japan. His extensive experience in luxury hospitality includes ten years with Westin Hotels & Resort and five years with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

  • He has created, designed, and implemented trendsetting new products, facilities, and concepts and specializes in resort and destination spa development, operations, financial control, and marketing.

  • Zak’s development and operations work have achieved award-winning results. He opened Mandarin Oriental’s first destination spa resort in South Asia, Ananda In The Himalayas, recognized by Condé Nast readers as #1 top spa resort for 2020. He pioneered wellbeing and cultural destination in Tanzania at Gibb’s Farm 2004 to 2014, still recognized in the 2020 top ten best African Safari lodges by Travel + Leisure.

  • Zak has worked with Kuntal Kumar and Hardiyana in Tanzania, Paul Lee and Hardiyana in Zambia, and Kuntal Kumar during his years with Mandarin Oriental Hotels Group in North Asia, Tanzania, and recently in Costa Rica, where he opened the first phase of Kinkara Rise Costa Rica. Earlier, he worked with Hardiyana with Mandarin Oriental Surabaya.

  • His expertise is developing a proprietary hospitality model that leverages indigenous knowledge, talent, and culture to create original and authentic destinations for wellbeing.
